Apple's security has just been enhanced, but no one knows


Mac users now have more proactive system protection with anti-malware.
According to TechRadar , Apple has been quietly improving the company's malware protection feature over the past time, recently it has secretly introduced a new anti-malware tool called "XProtect" Remediator".

According to blogger Howard Oakley, who first discovered the new security feature, macOS's approach to malware protection "has changed quite a bit from seven years ago" in the past six months.

What's new in XProtect Remediator?

While Apple has offered Mac users some level of malware protection through the XProtect tool since the release of Mac OS X Snow Leopard in 2008, the new tool, introduced in macOS 12.3 Monterey, has taken a big step forward in proactiveness.

Now XProtect Remediator will regularly scan for malware in the background and fix them when detected.

System scans will happen at least once a day, or more often every few hours, and tend to happen when your Mac is turned on but not in use.

The tool contains executable code modules that can find and fix many common types of malware, including the Adload trojan, DubRobber, and the browser's Genio adware.

What devices will XProtect Remediator support?

The new tool is available to users on macOS Monterey, macOS Big Sur, and macOS Catalina.

In addition, Apple has been very aggressive in rolling out security updates and recently patched two common zero-day vulnerabilities in updates for macOS Monterey 12.5.1, iOS 15.6.1, and iPadOS 15.6. .first.
