Origin of California pizza

USA Pizza California is one of the unique dishes that visitors should experience when visiting this place of the same name.

The dish was created around 1980, by chefs Ed Ladou and Alice Waters. Ed Ladou is a pizza chef at Prego's in Cow Hollow, San Francisco. Later, Ladou moved to work for Chef Wolfgang Puck's Spago restaurant in Hollywood. Alice Waters is a chef in Chez Panisse restaurant in Berkeley. The two often combine different ingredients to create new flavors for pizza.

In addition to the thin and crunchy traditional style, Pizza California attracts customers in the ingredients covered on the cake. These are different types of people, breaking all the principles of traditional pizza. Ladou's first pies had topped with goat cheese, truffles, pate and even mustard. Waters also uses goat cheese, incorporating duck sausages into his creations. Today, diners who eat this type of bread can find grilled chicken, shrimp, steak and any type of meat you can imagine.

When you come to California, you can enjoy this cake at famous restaurants such as Spago, Chez Panisse, Wolfgang Puck or California Pizza Kitchen - where the cakes were born. If you come to Los Angeles, Gjelina, Caitoti Pizza Café are an interesting choice to try.
