The world's best-selling electric car adds a convertible version, priced from 14,000 USD

CHINA Wuling Hongguang Mini EV Cabrio sold in the domestic market with a two-seat setup, 280 km journey per charge.

After a year and a half of its debut at the Shanghai auto show, the best-selling electric car model in China and around the world has a convertible version. Previously, Wuling Hongguang Mini EV had versions like Gameboy or Macaron.

The Mini EV Cabrio is also one of the smallest convertibles sold in China, measuring just 3,059 mm long, 1,521 mm wide and 1,614 mm high. The wheelbase is 2010 mm.

Unlike the 4-seater hatchback version, the convertible only has two seats when Wuling spares part of the rear space to store the soft top when folded. The soft top also comes in two color options, either red or black, while the bodywork comes in three color options including blue, green and black.

Compared to the original, the Mini EV Cabrio has many upgrades, including a larger design lamp system with new daytime running lights, higher anti-roll bars behind the seats. The interior is still a little different in the design of the dashboard, the clock design. The steering wheel, door panels and center console are almost the same.

The starting price of $14,000 makes the Hongguang Mini EV Cabrio one of the cheapest convertible models in the world. With this budget, the customer has a car with an electric motor of 40 hp and 110 Nm of torque. The motor on the rear axle draws power from a 26.5 kWh battery that helps the car run 280 km per charge.

Wuling Hongguang Mini EV Cabrio has 65% body made from tempered steel. In addition, the electric convertible comes standard with two airbags, automatic door latches, ABS brakes and electronic brake force distribution.
