ASUSTeam is a team of engineers and designers who used to work for ASUS and now they have successfully developed a tiny supercomputer with the help of Intel and ASUS. The product is called SPLD (Super Leader), the size fits in the palm of your hand and weighs only 130g.
The SPLD mini supercomputer comes from the old ASUS design team.
SPLD's size and weight are both super small.
Inside SPLD is Intel Gemini Lake Celeron J4125 processor with 4 cores, 4 threads with maximum speed of 2.7Ghz, Intel UHD Graphics 600 GPU clocked at 700MHz. ASUSTeam affirms that the device can run many games such as Minecraft, CS Go!, Half-Life 2 ... with a smooth enough frame rate. In addition, the GPU is also powerful enough to run specialized design software or edit 4K video.
This is a table of FPS measurements when playing popular games with SPLD. However, ASUSTeam does not specify how many GB RAM version they use.
Although small and so, SPLD is still equipped with 3 heat pipes and 2 mini cooling fans that work extremely efficiently. According to ASUSTeam's test, when the CPU is operating at 100% capacity, the internal temperature of the machine only reaches 61 degrees Celsius.
In addition to hardware connection ports, SPLD supports Wifi 9560 technology with data transmission speed 3 times faster than Wifi 5, reducing delay by 75%. 2 USB 3.0 ports can also plug in a LAN cable when connected to a compatible adapter.
You can connect to the TV to use instead of conventional smartTVs.
With SPLD, you can bring the machine with you to work anywhere, as long as you have an external monitor, including a TV with a keyboard and mouse. Thanks to the combination with Intel, the machine is perfectly compatible with Windows 11, no pirated installation. The memory of the lowest SPLD version reaches 128GB, but you can upgrade to an available microSD card slot or replace it with another hard drive thanks to 2 standard SATA M.2 2242 SSD slots. Because of the use of dual-channel RAM so the processing speed, opening applications of SPLD also increased significantly, although the capacity is not high.
Small in size, but a respectable number of ports, bringing maximum convenience.
SPLD upgrades come in RAM and SSD capacities of 16GB and 1TB. Product prices are currently reduced by more than half when donating via Kickstarter, from only about 4.5 million VND to more than 9 million VND. It is expected that the device will start shipping from March 2022. If interested, you can see more information and order early via the link below.
