Djokovic wins 29th straight match at Wimbledon

MR. Novak Djokovic beat Pedro Cachin 6-3, 6-3, 7-6(4) in the first round of Wimbledon 2023 on July 3.

Djokovic's streak of consecutive wins at Grand Slam tournaments has been increased to 22, extending from Wimbledon last year. Cachin, who has a knack for playing on clay, did not make it difficult for Nole on grass. The Argentine player won the game to catch the ball and took a 2-1 lead in the first set, but still lost 3-6 because he lost two games.

Djokovic commended Cachin, who kept the entire service game in the third set. The next opponent of the Serbian tennis player is Jordan Thompson. The Australian player lost 2-6, 2-6 in the first two sets to Brandon Nakashima, but won the following three sets with the scores 6-4, 7-6, 6-3. Thompson has been in fine form this season, finishing second at the tournament in Hertogenbosch last month.

The standout seeds all advanced on the opening day of Wimbledon . Andrey Rublev beat Marc Purcell 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 and Hubert Hurkacz also eliminated Albert Ramos-Vinolas in three sets. Casper Ruud struggled more when it took four sets to beat Laurent Lokoli of France.
