Facebook, Instagram, Messenger encountered a series of errors again

Many users reported not being able to view Stories on Facebook, personal pages not showing cover photos, or Messenger not showing the status of friends' accounts.

On Downdetector , a tool specializing in monitoring the situation of Internet services, users started reporting errors related to Meta services from more than 9:00 p.m. and the most with nearly 2,000 reports from 10:00 p.m. Among them, Facebook reported the most errors, followed by Instagram and Messenger. The company's other messaging service Whatsapp is not affected.

"I can't post Stories and viewing other people's Stories is also very intermittent," said Tran Hai Yen (Nguyen Trai, Hanoi). She said that when she tried accessing her friend's personal page, her profile picture did not appear, instead it showed a black background image. When accessing on the phone, the personal page background image is displayed in gray. Meanwhile, many other people said Messenger also did not show their friends' online status.

Errors occur in many places around the world, especially with the Story viewing feature. "My account logged in on both Samsung and iPhone cannot view Stories from friends," Jani Lang commented on Downdetector. However, some other people said they only had problems with the status bar on Messenger.

Some have more serious errors with Instagram. "I can't log in, the app says the password is wrong even though I used it normally before," account Nicollllleeee wrote while another account said messages, notifications or the number of likes and comments on Instagram were all missing. new update.

By 11:15 p.m., many people said they were able to review Stories from friends, but the black or gray cover photo error on the phone had not yet been fixed. Some still find it difficult to log into Instagram.

The latest series of errors comes two weeks after a serious incident when Meta's services "collapsed" for more than two hours on March 5. Facebook, Messenger... users have their accounts logged out and cannot log in. After more than two hours, some were able to access again, but many people still had difficulties due to reasons such as forgetting their password, lacking an authentication device, or not receiving the authentication code.

Compared to the previous incident, this issue is less severe and does not affect all accounts. However, the fact that the service continues to encounter errors with high frequency shows that the world's largest social network service provider is having problems maintaining system stability.

A similar Meta error occurred in 2021 when a series of the company's services were inaccessible on all platforms and in many global regions, lasting for 6 hours. At that time, Meta said the problem was caused by a "configuration error" on the system. In 2019, the web version of Facebook also lost connection for 24 hours.
