Google Search crashed for the first time in internet history


On the morning of August 9, 2022, Google's Google Search service crashed right at the time of office hours. This incident took place globally and lasted for approximately 30+ minutes.

In today's modern life, Google Search is an indispensable tool to support us in both work and daily life. Therefore, the collapse of Google Search, even for a short period of time, also made the whole world riot.

Besides, this is also the first time Google Search has had problems. Google Search started on September 15, 1997, and for the past 24 years it hasn't had any problems.


As noted by the DownDetector site, reports of a problem with Google Search began appearing at 7:55 am on August 9, 2022 in Vietnam time. At 8:33, the number of reports peaked at 43,619 and then gradually decreased. The Google Search page in Vietnam was restored at 8:35 am.


Users across the globe flocked to social networks like Facebook and Twitter to ask if Google had a problem. One user even said that he went to Google to find out if Google was down or not.

At the present time (9:15am), Google has not yet made any announcement on this issue. Meanwhile, a large number of reports (over 5,000) about Google Search issues are still submitted to DownDetector.

According to some sources, Google's data center near Council Bluffs, Iowa, USA had an electrical problem leading to a fire. Google also confirmed the incident and said that three electricians were seriously injured and several other employees suffered minor injuries,
