3 types of mushrooms can prevent cancer


Shiitake mushrooms, black fungus, and abalone mushrooms can help increase immunity, prevent cancer as well as chronic diseases, according to experts.

Doctor Huynh Tan Vu, Department of Traditional Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, said mushrooms are not only nutritious and delicious food but also a medicine that helps improve health.

Mushrooms are rich in protein, essential amino acids, low in fat, and contain many biologically active ingredients, contributing to the prevention and treatment of diseases. The polysaccharides in mushrooms have the ability to activate cellular immunity, helping to strengthen the immune system. In experiments, most edible mushrooms have the ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

Doctor Vu listed three types of mushrooms that are nutritious, therapeutic, and prevent cancer, as follows:

Shiitake mushrooms are also known as shiitake mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and spiced mushrooms. They are known as the "king of vegetables" (can thai chi king). In 100 g of dried shiitake mushrooms, there are 12-14 g of protein (far more than many other vegetables), which regulate metabolism, increase immunity, inhibit cancer cells, and prevent gallstones and urinary stones. This is an ideal food for people with iron deficiency anemia, high blood pressure, diabetes, lipid disorders, and malnourished children.

Black wood ear is also known as cloud ear, wood ear, wood ear, wood fungus, contains many proteins, minerals and vitamins, has the ability to inhibit platelet aggregation, prevent blood clotting due to thrombosis, and prevent the formation of blood clots. form atherosclerotic plaques in the blood vessels. In addition, black fungus also has anti-aging, anti-cancer and anti-radiation effects.

Abalone mushrooms

Fresh abalone mushrooms include protit 4%, carbohydrate 3.4%, vitamin C, vitamin PP, folic acid, unsaturated fatty acids. When abalone mushrooms are in the form of dry biomass, the protein content accounts for 33-43%, besides amino acids such as glutamic, valine, and isoleucine. Pharmacological research results show that abalone mushrooms contain pleutorin, effective against gram-positive bacteria and against cancer cells.

Besides the ability to prevent cancer, edible mushrooms have the effect of regulating cardiovascular function, increasing coronary blood flow, lowering oxygen consumption and improving myocardial ischemia.

Mushrooms such as silver ear (white wood ear), black wood ear, monkey head mushroom, shiitake mushroom, cordyceps, help regulate blood lipid disorders, lower cholesterol, triglyceride and beta-lipoprotein in serum. In addition, lingzhi mushrooms, fat, straw, needles, silver ear, black fungus also have the effect of lowering blood pressure.

Many types of edible mushrooms also have a sedative effect, which is very beneficial for regulating the activity of the central nervous system. Some other uses include detoxifying and protecting liver cells, lowering blood sugar, anti-aging, and prolonging life.

For edible mushrooms that have been sun-dried or sun-dried such as wood ear mushrooms, mushrooms, silver ear mushrooms, melaleuca, and straw, they can be stewed or stir-fried. Prepare by washing and removing soil and sand (if any). Do not soak in water for too long because nutrients may be lost.

With fresh mushrooms, choose according to the principle that the younger the mushroom, the tastier it is. For straw mushrooms, only choose mushrooms that have round buds, or are slightly egg-shaped, and mushrooms that have firm flesh and are not wilted yellow. For abalone mushrooms, only choose mushrooms whose caps have not yet curled up, are still thick, and are not wilted at the edges. If the mushroom is old, the edge of the cap will curl up.
